29 June 2011  Olympic Torch Nominee

One of our long standing members has been nominated by the club as an Olympic torch relay carrier for 2012. This is in recognition of all her hard work and outstanding contribution to our club over several years. We await to hear if she has been successful.

 

June 2011  Successful Beginners 5k

On the 5th of June we had a lovely day for the 5k race marking the end of our beginners course - 33 ladies took part. All did really well with the fastest time in just over 28 minutes! What an achievement for everyone especially those who never thought it was possible to run 5k :-) Photos to follow.

 

April/ May   2011 Beginners' Running Course stating Saturday 9th April

The next beginners' running course is starting Saturday 9th April at 9.45am. This is a 9 week course ending with a 5K run. The dates are: 9 APRIL, 16 APRIL, 23 APRIL, 30 APRIL, 7 MAY, 14 MAY, 21 MAY, 28 MAY and 4 June (4 June will be a 5K run).

12.2.11   New Committee

The new committee met for the first time and began to organise the next running course for beginners.

 

15.1.11   AGM

The AGM was held after running on Saturday. Some new committee members were elected. Last year's committee were thanked for gaining affiliation to UKAthletics and for purchasing hi-viz jackets for all members.
